About Famotel

Famotel is a hotel search and comparison site. We bring together details, photos and guest scores for 1 335 144 hotels, resorts, apartments and holiday homes in 218 countries and territories, so you can shortlist the right place quickly and then compare live prices from leading booking sites.
Why “Famotel”?
The name is short for family hotel. We started out looking for places that work for families (a pool, a kitchen, room to spread out) and built the filters we wished other sites had. Famotel covers every kind of trip, but those family-friendly filters are on every destination page.
How we rank properties
Our default “Recommended” order is built from guest reviews, not from who pays us. Each property's score combines:
- Guest rating, weighted by how many reviews it has, so a 9.2 from 2,000 guests ranks above a 10 from three.
- Review volume, as a signal of a proven track record.
- Star classification and how complete the listing is (photos and description).
You can always re-sort by guest rating, number of reviews, star rating or distance to the centre.
Where prices come from
Hotel prices change by the minute. Rather than show stale numbers, we send you to live rates from our partners: Agoda, Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com and Vrbo. The live price map on every destination and hotel page shows current rates for your dates directly from those sites.
How Famotel is funded
Famotel is free to use. When you click through to a partner and make a booking, we may receive a commission from that partner. This never changes the price you pay. Read our affiliate disclosure for details.
Where our data comes from
Property information, photos and review scores are supplied by our travel partners and refreshed regularly. Facilities listed on property pages are taken from the property's own description. If you notice something wrong, please let us know.
